Masterpiece – The Art Auction Game
Product Description
MASTERPIECE: “Going once, going twice…SOLD!”
For years families have thrilled to the excitement and fun of the MASTERPIECE game. Now you can join the tradition and make your mark in the high-stakes world of an international art auction, where the excitement is in the bidding — and the fun is in the bluffing!
Rembrandt…Cezanne…Monet. Tonight, 24 works by the world’s greatest painters will go on the auction block. And with a shrewd eye for a deal, you can bid and bluff your way to the largest fortune in paintings and cash.
See a picture you like? What will you bid — $1 million? $10 million?
Of course, it could turn out to be a worthless forgery. Try to buy low and sell high…and if you can pass off a fake as the real thing, take the money and run!
It’s the classic MASTERPIECE game…Now, who’ll start the bidding?
Game includes:
Game board
6 Movers
24 Painting cards
Display easel

What a WONDERFULY **FUN** classic!! I found this at a thrift store for almost nothing; what a TREASURE!!! My 9yods and 4yodd beg to play again and again. Cards have many great artist and materpieces such as Dega, Van Gough, Cassat, Renior, Rembrant, Wood, Rubens, Homer, Picasso, Pollock, Toulouse, Monet, Velazquez and more. You can even add your own. I print out a picture and glue it to a 3×5 card and write the info on the back. I also add a rule, that whomever is able to guess the artist or name of the painting when it goes up for auction, gets an extra $50,000 from the bank. You get to compete with each other and auction the paintings; whomever makes the highest bid keeps the painting and draws a money card to see what it’s really worth. It could be worth anywhere from “Forgery” ($0) to $1 million. No one knows how much the paintings are really worth until after you purchase it and draw a card. You can even bid on others’ paintings if they land on “Private Auction”, or buy others’ paintings for various amounts, depending on what space you land on. The game says that it is for ages 12 and up, but my I would put it more at 7-8 and up. My 4yodd played it although she didn’t really understand about bidding and selling. It requires a minimum of 3 players, and the max is only limited by the amount of money that can be doled out from the bank. Don’t miss this one!!!

We received this game extremely fast in the mail. It was in very good condition just as it stated before I bought it. Awesome family game!
They just don’t make board games like they use to. This game is fun and educational. I remember playing this game as a young kid. When I went to college, I took an art history class and remembered some of the paintings that are featured in this board game. I thought my 10 year old would like it and she does; so does my 7 year old son.

Best Game Ever Made!!!
I am 45 yrs old and I remember getting this game for my 13th birthday and it was so much fun we played it to death.
I bought the 1970 versions (the original) of this game. My grown children grew up playing this board game and loved it. Years later one of them was at the Chicago Art Museum and was thrilled to see every one of the paintings hanging there.
