Only the ignorant take part in a scam willingly once they know that it is a scam.

“If a plan offers to pay commissions for recruiting new distributors, watch out! Most states outlaw this practice, which is known as “pyramiding.” State laws against pyramiding say that a multilevel marketing plan should only pay commissions for retail sales of goods or services, not for recruiting new distributors”. –FTC
“Multilevel marketing plans, also known as “network” or “matrix” marketing, are a way of selling goods or services through distributors”.–FTC

Ya know I have to laugh because your hatred of all things MLM does not equal fact. FTC definition makes a distinction between “Pyramiding” and MLM as a model of selling goods and services through distributors.
MLM in and of it’s self is not a scam or “bad business”. These are subjective terms and a dis regard of the distinction officially drawn between MLM and Pyramids to suppot the negitive and blanketing connotation that ALL MLM is bad and the same thing as a pyramid scheme.

Sure in some far off magical land their maybe one MLM that does not gain the majority of it’s compensation from signing up agents, but that land is not this one.
“Why is pyramiding prohibited? Because plans that pay commissions for recruiting new distributors inevitably collapse when no new distributors can be recruited. And when a plan collapses, most people — except perhaps those at the very top of the pyramid — lose their money.” -FTC

Hey, we actually agree about pyramid schemes. Anything where comp is earned JUST from bringing in new recruits is a scam and will collapse.
What I’m talking about is legit product based MLM distrabution. Again this distinction is a matter of record and not subjective to your or my opinion.

“Sure in some far off magical land their maybe one MLM that does not gain the majority of it’s compensation from signing up agents, but that land is not this one”
LOL. You just proved the generalized rhetoric based angle of your video and opinion of an industry that you know very little about.
There are many (can name them if you like) MLM companies that are product based (legit). To pay comp for just recruiting is illegal and I would never be apart of that. There are financial services

to health and wellness companies to marketing education MLM’s that are reatail sales based, many of them. You are just so blinded by your hatred, you just lump it all into one and you really DON’T know how this industry works.
You keep proving that over and over..

Hey sabot, if MLM is such “Bad Business”, how come Restof YourLife OWNED you in this debate??
June 25th, 2009 at 12:42 am
Their is no point in actually debating with MLM suckers. Just like the little old ladies that up till the last moment of a Nigerian scam are sure they will get their money back, they will go on and on about how MLM is such good business. MLM is a way of taking the normal distribution model and turning it into a scam for the few. Real business benefits all that participate and is not focused on skimming those at the bottom. MLM is and always is a scam.

Dude, you have $3 dollars and I should listen to you about how you can not make money in MLM’s?
July 15th, 2009 at 8:21 pm
Actually, every “real” job I have had, I have always had to pay for at least nice clothes to get the job in the first place then more once i got hired to look presentable. When I got my real estate license I forked out about $2,500. Is being a Realtor a scam? You probably dont have to pay for anything for some jobs, just the ones that you can make some real money with. Just my 2 cents.

I think people get roped into thinking they can make a lot of money, but the reality is, you stand the same chance as becoming CEO of Best Buy or Sears, which is a great reach goal. It would be like telling an entry level associate that they could be CEO if they worked hard.

Even though MLM is not without it’s faults, this video is a 100% stereo typed by someone who (you can tell) has never been in the industry.
August 10th, 2009 at 11:24 am
So if I am smart enough not to participate in a classic con, I should not make a video. I think that is just foolish.

pyramid system is just an organisation chart. even if u worked for company, your boss is on the top and you and the rest of workers are at the bottom. does it sound like a pyramid system? c’mon dude…..MLM is just a model of business. it is not a crime or something bad.

Even with a company like Primerica, has produced over 5,000 people that cash flow between 50k-5mill a year. It answers to many regulators (national insurance board, FINRA,NASD, many others) and is officially designated and registered as a modified general agency since 1977.
And yes, they do implement MLM as a means of product distrabution (also a good way to save the customers money by not passing on advertising costs)
Your view comes off as very laymen. Primerica is not “Bad Business”..

Had me until the greed portion of your rant.
December 2nd, 2009 at 2:25 am
You’re basically on the money! MLM is about greed, jealousy and deception. Those making the money love the business, those losing money are jealous of those making the money, and those who just started are excited about the money that they will only make in their dreams.

Hello sabot96. I respect your view on this topic as it is based off of a stigma that most encounter and judge from with out actually knowing the network marketing industry.
I do consulting and train on SEO ( search engine optimization) building web sites, driving traffic and also do mindset training for people that are looking to be leaders in their industry (on line and off)
If your open for debate, I would be more than willing to educate you on the realities of on line business?
